The Court of Appeal sitting in Abuja has upheld the suspension of former National Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Senator Samuel Anyanwu SamDaddy, alongside the party’s National Legal Adviser, Kamaldeen Ajibade; Deputy Legal Adviser, Okechukwu Osuoha; and National Organizing Secretary, Umaru Bature.
In its ruling, the appellate court affirmed the earlier judgment of the Federal High Court delivered by Justice James Omotosho, which supported the disciplinary action taken against the party officials.
It will be recalled that the National Working Committee (NWC) of the PDP had suspended Anyanwu and the other officials on November 1, 2025, amid the lingering leadership crisis within the party.
The Court of Appeal, in its decision on Monday, also upheld the October 31, 2025 judgment of the Federal High Court in Abuja, which restrained the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) from recognizing the outcome of the PDP’s 2025 National Convention.
The ruling is considered a significant development in the ongoing internal dispute within the opposition party, which has witnessed a series of legal battles and leadership disagreements in recent months.
